Compassionate Inquiry (CI) is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Mate, who is worldly renowned for his wok on addiction and trauma.
CI uses simple questions to give insight into perceptions, believes and emotions behind what we present to others. Only by uncovering and getting to know what drives our behaviours and suffering, we can free ourselves from it.
A session normally lasts between 45-60 min and it can be carried out online or in person. It starts with you setting an intention, i.e something you would like to explore (whether a feeling or emotion, pattern of behaviour etc.).
Compared to some more traditional psychotherapist approaches, the session is carried out in a more conversational style and it is not unusual for me as the therapist, to (kindly) interrupt you.
One of the main tenets of CI is the total faith in the client’s/your ability to heal yourself. For that reason, my role is more of an eye to eye witness and facilitator rather than a top down approach (i.e I might make suggestions but never tell you what to do).
Towards the end of the session, we revisit your original intention to see if new insights arise.
You, as the client, are in total control of how far/deep you want to go and at any point, you can take a break or end the session if you so wish.
CI sessions can serve as a stand alone but also as adjunct to treatments such as acupuncture, bodywork and 1-1 yoga/movement therapy.
If you have any questions about CI and wether it can help you, please drop me a message here.
I work with different payment options to make this work as accessible as possible.
My invitation, when deciding your investment, is to chose what feels right.
How do you do that?
Notice what you feel in your body when you say to yourself the lowest contribution possible all the way to outrageously expensive. Take your time.
Too low or too high will not feel good. One of those amounts will hit the spot. Then you can double check with your mind .
Abundant contributions are received with gratitude and support me in continuing offering CI sessions as well as proving different payment options.
