I’ve always believed that we’re made to move β€” to explore, to express, to connect, to play. Movement has been a thread throughout my whole life; shaping the way I see health, healing and being human.

And so now my work focus is shifting. Whilst still be treating in #chagford, @sourcepoint_cic and #modbury, I’m also putting more energy into my lifelong passion β€” movement.

My classes, private sessions and workshops are now coming together under Devon Movement Group, with sessions in @modburytherapycentre , @trailing_pebbles and @cybele_gym. I’m creating space for people of all ages to rediscover the joy and power of moving well.

A new treasure in my ever-growing tea collection β€” a beautiful gongfu tea tray gifted by @_itsyourhormones_ for my birthday 🍡✨

There’s something so meditative about gongfu tea β€” the slow rhythm of pouring, the warmth of the cups, the quiet attention it invites. It’s become a ritual that connects so many threads of my life: our travels and studies in China, and my ongoing Taiji lessons with my teacher Michael Acton @wustyletaiji .

Today’s tea was a delicate green from Mount Putuo β€” one of China’s four sacred Buddhist mountains, said to be the home of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Guanyin. 🌿 We hiked and prostrated to its peak back in 2017 on a Buddhist scholarship with @woodenfish_hbmlp β€” an unforgettable experience.

So this autumnal Saturday in the U.K., we revisited that journey through tea β€” reminiscing about the many flavours, places, and friends we’ve met along the way. Here’s to more adventures to come β€” gānbΔ“i! (干杯) πŸ«–πŸŒ

Ive been recently playing around with what an auth Ive been recently playing around with what an authentic practice looks like to me, taking into account not just the pieces of paper that state what I’m qualified to teach but also my time playing capoeira, breakdancing and parkour. 
Be it a good decade or two ago…some new explorations and off the cuff improvisations for a recent photo shoot. Pressure created the performance 🀣. Looking forward to bringing aspects of these into my new classes @cybele in #ashburton starting this month.

It’s my own stuff. However, I realise that what I’m teaching isn’t only β€˜yoga’, it isn’t only β€˜somatics’, it isn’t only β€˜strength & mobility.’ It’s a combination of these and more and continuing to evolve (including my skills & experience as a therapist).

Meet Sauni. Sauni is the Nepalese word for a female boss. Ingrid owns and runs @namobuddharesort and we met first in 2013. We were volunteering Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery for the on site health clinic as the acupuncturists mainly for pain, treating up to 60 patients in a morning clinic! The experience definitely upskilled our needling speed! We would visit Namo Buddha resort for a break from monastic life and to enjoy the beautiful views and delicious food; a change from twice daily dhal bhat (as much as we love it!).

We have returned to the resort for extended periods another two times offering β€˜Nepal unplugged’ : health and wellness retreats. This place holds a very special part in both our hearts. The last time we were there was just before COVID and the days before lockdown happened in both countries.

Now visiting Sri Lanka, from mountains to sea, Sauni was also in the area literally 1 hour from where we are staying at the time. What are the chances?
We had a long catch-up and will return to Nepal in the next couple of years to run a yoga inspired movement retreat. We know the area very well and there are lots of things to do and see, breath taking views, great food and fantastic people.
